Phonics Blending VC Words Activity

Teach your class to read vowel-consonant words with this fun activity! Children should say the sounds as they move their toy dinosaur across the footprints and then blend them together to read the VC word.
 
Dinosaur footprint mats with the following words are provided in colour and b/w (one word per mat):
 
•it, in, is, if
 
•an, am, at, as
 
•up, us
 
•on, of
 
 
Each word is also written on a dinosaur flashcard (colour copy and B&W copy).  These could be used for assessment purposes or children could match them to the correct mats.
